Out Of Character Rules/Code of Conduct
Communication and Etiquette
1) Check the forums often and be sure to check the guild message of the day when you log on. There will often be important information shared in these mediums. Make sure that the name you use on the guild forums matches the name of your character in the guild or which you are applying to the guild as.
2) Use your in-game calendar to sign up for guild and member-sponsored events! If you sign up for an event but realize you are unable to attend, be sure to either change your sign up status or contact the event sponsor at the earliest opportunity to explain your absence. This is simply good manners, as we understand that life can take you by surprise from time to time.
3) Be respectful to your guild mates!
4) OOC politics and religion are moderated topics, so keep it civil or you'll be asked to end the discussion.
5) Statements which defame any nationality, race, religion, or orientation do not belong in our guild. For example: 'That's so gay'.
6) In Character defaming is acceptable within roleplay, but keep it PURELY In Character.
8) We are an 18+ guild. This is to promote an atmosphere of maturity, and the age limit is non-negotiable. We expect you to be able to tolerate profanity, and possess the capability to handle any conflict in a mature manner. People will have differentiating opinions, respect them, and trust your fellow guildies.
9) If you feel the need to ERP, please keep it out of public. Check WoW's ToS if you have questions.
10) If you have a problem with another member, either take it into whispers, or contact an officer to solve the problem for you - do not argue it out in public.
11) Do not grief RP in any way. Do not AoE on RPers. Do not harass RPers. Do not try to pass off being a jerk towards RPers as RP when it is clearly not. This is a heavy RP guild! If you have a tendency to grief RP you are in the wrong place. If you don't agree with somebody's RP, don't RP with them. Don't make yourself be the dick who ICly goes out of their way to try and poke fun at somebody. You're just making yourself - and us - look bad.
12) Don't hate on individuals or guilds. We don't want to hear about how your previous guild sucked, or how so-and-so is an idiot. Statements like "This pug is bad" are acceptable, but "this pug is bad and I think their mum's a whore" is not. Criticism of a pug's inadequate skills is acceptable, but being mean about it or hate mongering is not.
13) Communication channels: /g is OOC, /o is IC and considered to be the communicator channel, /stormwolfooc is mainly used for recruitment purposes and the occasional out-of-guild contact with characters people might have in other guilds, but please do not use it for casual conversation. Asking on your non-guilded alt if a certain event is about to start is fine, inquiring others about the weather is not. Joining /stormwolfooc is optional and discouraged unless you do have those out of guild characters and need to ask something now and then.
14) If a guild event is happening and you are online but not present, expect to give a reason as to why you aren't there. We are a heavy RP guild, and expect members to show interest in RP and attend events.
15) If you have any issues or complaints that you feel are negatively impacting the guild experience for you or others, please do not hesitate to contact the officers! Even if you are complaining about one or more officer(s). We will not kick you out for discussing your concerns with us. Please be ready to provide specific details so that we can better help you! Taking a SCREENSHOT or a text LOG is highly encouraged. It helps your case and helps figure out what to address beyond a vague 'he said she said' line of arguments.
Optional: The official unofficial RP mod of choice is TotalRP2. You aren't required to install it, but you will gain a lot more information of your fellow RPers if you do install it, and some people might hold events or RP storylines that rely on you to have this installed.
Guild Bank
1) If you do not have bank access but have a need for something in the vault, you may contact an officer to place your request - be ready to explain what you need the item for if it is of high value.
2) Taking items from the guild vault for the purpose of selling for personal profit will not be tolerated and can result in removal from the guild. The guild bank is there to be used for the guild's benefit, and if you are leveling a profession, please use it! But be courteous and do not take everything.
3) To attain a rank with guild bank access, you will be required to have an authenticator.
4) A free mechanical squirrel is up for grabs for every member! If you don't have one yet, help yourself to one. This is an in character gift from the captain, and it is programmed to collect clutter from your home's floor and place it into jars (or anything that resembles a jar if you activate the squirrel but fail to provide a jar).
In Character Rules/Code of Conduct
1) Respect the Captain, the Officers, and your fellow crew. We are all working together for a common goal.
2) Do not kill your fellow crew, there is too much paperwork and insurance information involved to make this an acceptable action.
3) Avoid maiming your fellow crew. This incurs vast medical costs and paperwork, and potential loss of funds from performance hits.
4) Follow orders given by your superiors. They are your superiors for a reason. That reason is that they are superior.
5) Theft from the Stormwolf will not be permitted, and in the case of theft, #2 and #3 go out the window. You have been warned.
6) Do not reveal sensitive information about the Stormwolf or her crew. See rule 5 for what can and will happen if you do.
7) You may not be in direct conflict with the Consortium while you are serving in the crew of the Stormwolf. Direct conflict involves, for example, working for the enemies of the Consortium.
